Licensing Terms
The copies of FileZilla and FileZilla Server published on filezilla-project.org are open-source and cost nothing. The client carries the GNU General Public License (GPL) in version 3, or any newer version should you prefer one. The server side is released under the GNU Affero General Public License, likewise version 3 or later at your choice.
Running either program comes with no strings attached. Passing the software on to others, or altering it, is permitted within whichever of the two licences applies.
The software is handed over in the hope that it proves useful, yet it arrives with NO WARRANTY of any kind — not even an implied promise of MERCHANTABILITY or of FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
The complete wording is worth reading: see the full GPL text and the full AGPL text.
Commercial FileZilla Pro editions follow separate rules; those are set out in the FileZilla Pro Terms and Conditions on the Pro website.
